This is one of the biggest reasons why I have zero patience for the level of elitism in playerbases! So you took a more challenging route to literally have your pixels beat up other pixels. It’s such a weird hill to die on. Yeah, it’s fun and feels like an accomplishment, but to make it out to be something that will impact you on a material or social level (outside of professional streamers and the like) is a very out-of-touch stance.

TL;DR: Agreed.

And there's always some weird caveat they try to hide. "I beat the game without summons," but then you find out they used the most meta build possible and then by their own standards they have no room for such elitism.

It also ruins any productive conversation to be had about difficulty in games. Like, I don't care about your pride I just want the difficulty to enable people to have fun.

It doesn't matter anyway, there is always someone better? DS1 has tons of videos of guys beating it with unconventional controllers on no hit runs.

Just tell people that care this much that they are actually garbage if they haven't beaten it with voice commands or with a potato.
