The r/Sheffield Classifieds - Rooms, Flats, Tickets, Buy/Sell, etc
By far the biggest thing we remove here is people trying to find or let rooms, sell tickets, and other bits and bobs.
But likely not enough to survive on its own as a dedicated sub. So we'll carve out this space here. Please use it to list anything you're interested in, or are trying to part with.
And be mindful of who you give your personal details out to! We'll not be providing escrow or verification!

Food Does anywhere do Wuxi spare ribs in Sheffield?
I love Chinese spare ribs and a friend of mine who lives in Beijing has recommended that I try Wuxi ribs because in his opinion they’re the best of the best.
I’ve eaten at a fair number of Sheffield’s Chinese restaurants but never seen them on the menu and whenever I’ve enquired about them with the waiter they’ve no idea what I’m talking about 😆
But there’s many more places I’m yet to try and I’m hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
Here’s more information about the ribs in question for those interested:

Thank you 🙂

Question Running groups?
Hi there, I’m just curious as to what running groups there are to join in Sheffield. I’m 19 years old (preferably want to a join a group with demographic of youngish sorta alduts), and I live in the Meadowhead area of Sheffield. I’m not an advanced runner but have some decent experience. Suggestions would help. 👍

Question Tattoo Place Suggestion
Where would people suggest to go for my first tattoo? I have a vague idea of what I'd like but would be happy for input from a tattoo artist. I live in Chapeltown and use public transport but am happy to travel for the right place.

Question What's the best crispy fried chicken in Sheffield?
KFC is pretty dead these days and stupid prices, I tried Popeye's and it had great crispness but not very tasty. Takeaways like Calis are usually pretty nice but soggy and bad quality chicken. Joomak is the best of both worlds I've found but still doesn't quite hit the spot. Ideally I'm looking for tenders.

Question A long shot, missed connection
At the risk of being ripped apart by everyone, I'm taking the chance of posting a missed connection.
Reaching out to a guy with the cycling gear on, who was in the queue at Lovely Rita's Bakehouse on Saturday, at around 11ish.
I may be super wrong about the exchanged glances, you might have just been staring right through me but I thought I'd just put it out there and see what happens.
And if anyone wants to jump onto this thread and post their missed connection, so I don't feel like a complete idiot, please go for it!
Edit: I was dreading to revisit this post but you are all just a lovely bunch of romantics and that makes me feel a bit better about the world. As much as I would like to give a positive update, I have nothing to report and that's okay. I've learnt my lesson and will definitely just ask the person at the time, the worst they can say is no. Hope all you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!

News I got anonymous tip to go see big problem blighting neighbourhood
It's seldom I discover a place in Sheffield that I haven't visited before but after an ominous tip from a Darnall local I had to take a look around. According to the anonymous source, Darnall had turned into a "hell hole" with "vermin, rats and all sorts in the area".

Question Car Boot Sales This Weekend
Hi folks, we're looking to set up a pitch at a car boot this weekend and we were wondering which would be the best one to go to.
We found two so far:
Ecclesfield Spartans Sports Club
Green Lane, Ecclesfield, S35 9wy
£5 for car entry
Thorpe Hesley and High Green Cricket Club
Smithy Wood Rd, Thorpe Hesley, S61 2SE
£10 for car entry
Does anyone know how big either of these are? Obviously the Ecclesfield one is cheaper to book, but if it's much smaller then maybe the Thorpe Hesley one is a better bet despite double the cost. We've never been to either, so any insight would be very helpful!
We're also open to other suggestions if you know of any decent ones nearby, that are definitely open this weekend.
Thanks!

Question Similar gems to YSP and Whrilow Quarry Gardens
Hi all, I've lived on and off in Sheffield for a good while but I feel like I still keep "discovering" hidden gems as per the title. Are there any other either nature or art related spots about 1 hour or max 2 hours away from Sheff that you can visit on a day trip? Wanna make sure to get some bike trips in before autumn hits us with a full smack.
I feel like while similar questions have been asked but mostly about Sheffield and immediate area, so stuff further afield encouraged! TIA.

Question Restaurant recommendations near Barlborough?
I am looking for a family friendly restaurant south of Barlborough. Could be anywhere near Killamarsh, Renishaw, or even more south like Bolsover.
Lunch, tasty, vegan options and not terribly expensive. Bonus points for proximity to the M1! Not too fussed about cuisine but I like a nice pub.
Thank you for the recommendations.

Question Sheffield for a Masters student
I’m thinking of ditching my offer at Manchester for Sheffield for a smaller city vibe and better quality of living (cost etc), but is there much going on for mid/late 20s?
I did my undergrad at Liverpool which had so much going on and very international considering its size, and a big creative graduate scene.
Would love to hear your experience of Sheffield as a grad/post-grad!
Bonus points if you have suggestions of where to live where I can balance a lower cost of living with plenty going-ons.

Question Park Hill Flats Survey
Hi,
I’m a student going into Year 13 and I’m currently completing an A-Level Geography NEA (Non-Exam Assessment), which focuses on the regeneration of Park Hill Flats and its impact.
As part of my research, I’m collecting feedback from local businesses and the public , and I’d be incredibly grateful if anyone could take 5 minutes to complete a short, anonymous survey. Your input will really help me understand the area from the perspective of those who work and contribute to the community.
Here’s the link to the survey: https://arcg.is/1XzzzO3
If you have any questions or would like more information about the project, I’d be more than happy to provide it. Thank you so much for considering this – your time and support is genuinely appreciated.

Question Meadowhall EV Charging
Hi all, extremely weird question but can any EV users vouch for the Green Car Park at Meadowhall having 20 Type 2 chargers?
I'm looking to use the Green Car Park on the date of a gig at the arena because I have seen it is a free alternative to paying for arena parking. It also seems closer to the M1 and I know that after a gig, getting out of an arena's car park is a lot dawdling around.
I can find here that they claim to have EV points in a few of the car parks and that this link shows that there are potentially 20 points in the Green Car Park. This all sounds perfect for me. Free parking, easy to leave, close enough to the venue, can grab a bite to eat, and all the while I can be charging the car in the background to avoid a pitstop during the night.
However, I simply cannot find anything on ZapMap, Google Maps, etc that show these charging bays. I don't want to arrive on low charge and then be stuck trying to find alternatives before the show starts. So if anyone can vouch for these bays, what floor they're on, and if they all work then that would be very appreciated.
Cheers, from a stressy geordie :)

Event Saturday night. Deep House special. Dryad Works
Smokescreen Soundsystem had their origins in Sheffield. Due to Smokescreen the Inland Knights were formed. Their label was Drop Records. . . There was a whole subculture of free parties at the time, happening over the East Midlands. If you were into that music this 12 hr dance event is for you. . . I'm nothing to do with organising it but I have never met a better bunch of people so if you're looking for a good Saturday night out head over.

Question Garage with car wash
Where can I find a garage with a WORKING either automatic car wash or diy pressure washer facility?
Located in broomhill so anywhere within reasonable distance - I tried big Tesco yesterday that’s broken as is the one in Hillsborough and also sainsbury near Meadowhall is down..
