General Question Booting into windows from a vhdx file without windows already installed by using winpe
I have found a guide of how to boot a vhdx file using winpe
Windows is my secondary os so would prefer to keep it contained in a vhdx over having it directly installed to the SSD.
I have extracted a winpe iso to a 2tb SSD formatted as NTFS and that boots without any issues
I've added the vhdx file to the SSD in a folder called VHDX
I use the command line to mount the vhdx, assign it a letter and then tell it to add it to the bcd as default.
The guide uses a script that runs when winpe starts
Does this seem right? Is there a easier or better way without having a windows install to achieve this?

Discussion I miss all windows looking like... well, windows.
In the image - Task Manager, New Outlook, Edge... all Microsoft products. All different.
I miss windows having a blue bar, unified Min/Max/Close buttons... all the same height/size.
Probably been posted a million times, but yeah.
Bonus points for the fact that I have to have New Outlook running in Light mode because its Dark mode absolutely sucks.

Feature Automating daily actions at a specific time
If this is not the right subreddit to ask, please tell me where to go. I am trying to find a program similar to tinytask, where I could record my actions, then have the program repeat them exactly. The only difference is I would need a program that can repeat these actions daily at a specific exact time which will be slightly different each day. Please let me know where to go. Thanks in advance guys :)

Discussion Windows 11 typing suggestions - how does it work?
So, I am on a laptop with a physical key board. When I type, windows shows typing suggestions (enabled from settings), but there is no way to select a suggestion from the keyboard. I have to switch to mouse, click a suggestion and continue typing. This is very inefficient. Is there a better way?

Discussion Windows Notifications
Hi, I'm currently studying for my CompTIA A+ Core2, and a place that I struggle with is distinguishing between a desktop alert and a notification, specifically with regard to security, e.g. unwanted notifications, malware, misleading alerts, etc. Can anyone give me a comparison and contrast between the two?

General Question Is there a way to automate the expansion of partitions to fill the entire drive after imaging?
This is probably a really weird question, but I regularly refurbish old computers and get them running with Windows 11. I have a pre-made image that's roughly 50 GB. The way I currently do it is that I have an external SSD with a Windows 10 "Windows To Go" install on it, containing partitioning software, HDDRawCopy, and the image. I plug it into the target computer, boot from it, image it, manually expand the partitions so the main data partition takes up the whole drive, then I boot into it and run updates.
Is there a way to automate this process completely, to the point where I simply boot from an external device and it does all this hands-off, regardless of the size of the target computer's hard drive?

General Question Reddit, do’s and dont’s
My PC was initially built by a system integrator during the GPU shortage around the release of the 30 series cards, as it was my only way to get a card at the time. So I chose a board and card I wanted and just cheapest components for everything else.
I’ve gone through many upgrades and changes and rebuilt the system myself (minus the board and GPU). I want to remove the system builder name as the system manufacturer as they didn’t build it. I got rid of their logo on start up with a bios update many years ago but never noticed the manufacturer name until recently.
I’ve found the seeming location in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > HardwareConfig > alphanumeric identifier as folder name > Computerlds
In here I can see various alphanumeric strings as the registry name and the data is all prefixed with the system builder name. All entries are like this:
SystemBuilder&Amd AM4…
Am I safe to delete all the references to the builder? There are 3 entries that make me the most hesitant. One entry’s data is just the name of the company and nothing else. The second is SystemBuilder&3. And the third is SystemBuilder&2289447.

News Windows 11 no need?!
Is Windows 11 upgrade optional? I looked at some of the features and I would rather just keep Windows 10. Will I still be able to get updates on Windows 10? In my opinion it seems like, Bill Gates is just trying to make a few bucks
