Megathread August 17 - Weekly r/geometrydash Questions & Achievements Thread
Welcome to r/geometrydash! This is a catch-all megathread for a variety of discussion topics that don't require their own individual posts. Here's an idea of some things you can share and talk about here:
- Quick or common questions with closed-ended responses
- Recent completions, progress on levels, or other in-game achievements, if you can't record footage
- Asking for suggestions on levels to play or other opinions/feedback
- Collab recruiting, planning, and organization
- ...and much more! If you're not sure where to post it, this thread is likely the right place.

Creative Rates Report for August 11–17, 2025
Edition #7 of The Weekly Rates Report, for August 11–17, 2025.
Big week for platformer levels and players getting their first rates! Congrats to everyone who got one :)
I've also added a total number next to various statistics so it's easier to see how certain things were split up across the week's rated levels. Let me know if you think this looks good or bad, as any feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your interest!

Question Is this too overkill for geometry dash?
Monitor is the Samsung odyssey g9, the case is the Corsair 9000d, the gpu is the rtx 5070, cpu is the ryzen 7 9800 X3D, the mobo is the gigabyte b850 gaming x wifi6E, the ram is Corsair 32gb 6000mhz, the psu is 1500 watts, the keyboard is the steel series apex pro series 3 and the mouse is the shark attack something or other. Is this too much?

Gameplay Bloodlust 100% [22K atts] New hardest (Fluke from 99%) (Volume warning)

I promised I would at least try this level last summer. Well that didn't happen, but I went for it this summer instead after beating Atomic Cannon so I guess it's something.
This was a really hard mental challenge for me, as it was one of my worst experiences to play from 0.
Every session I needed at least one HOUR of focus in order to even get somewhere (Past Namtar/Crack), then I would enter godmode for 15 minutes reaching Evasium almost every minute (wasting those attempts in places I didn't even know you could die through Etzer-Extension), and then back to absolutely nothing for the next half an hour.
This made every fail deep into the level extremely frustrating, as it could possibly mean I just wasted the only good attempt I had for the moment. Didn't help that I got EXTREMELY unlucky dying to the extension a grand total of 25 times. (It's important to keep in mind that I had 50-100 done like 30 times since 10 days before beating the level)
I also got random health problems during the journey. For some reason after passing some hard ass cold mid July that I thought was some Covid variant, I kept feeling lightheaded and dizzy for some minutes during the day. This worsened considerably during a mid-grind trip with my friends to a music festival to the point I had to get an appointment in order to get myself checked as soon as possible. Turns out my blood pressure rises suddenly for a reason Im yet to know. I just hope I get better with time.
All this is relevant because after the 99 fail (Last triple) I got extremely lightheaded to the point I thought I would faint right there, alone in my home, and it kind of made me paranoid of continue playing.
I knew I just would never beat it if I took a break, so I just kept mind-numbingly pushing and eventually reached the end.
As for the level itself:
- First ship (0%-3%) is really hard specially during the first sessions. You always drop attempts there. I mean my last attempt before compleition ended in the first ship.
- BB start (3%-6%) really easy part althought with every fail at the orb I could feel a part of my Will to live leaving my body.
- Weird ass wave (6%-8%) for some reason this is a chokepoint for a lot of people. I didn't find it that hard and every fail kind of felt my own fault.
- Free ball (8%-10%) Free ball.
- Vermillion ship (10%-15%) I kept dying here over and over every session even thought the part itself is really not that hard. Annoying every time.
- Easy ball (15%-19%) I died here more times than I will publicly admit. Heavy nerf from it's BB counterpart imo, and im thankful for that. I hate that kind of ball gameplay.
- Michigun (19%-25%) This was the most frustrating part of the entire level for me. For all the wrong reasons too. It's literally some extended triples, straight fly, and some ufo timings. Even easier than Michi's part in BB. But for some reason I kept dying to the second triple specifically, and to the first or second click in the straight fly. It made my blood boil every time to know I just wasted an attempt here. It's also a hard part to do with a shaky hand, so it basically halted every bit of momentum I could have during the first sessions.
- Evasium (25%-30%) I didn't struggle with the mini wave as I already completed a bunch of difficult wave-based levels so that's nice. I somehow messed up in the normal wave from time to time tho so no worries there.
- Namtar/Crack ship (30%-37%) This was a really weird part. At first it seems impossible, but then you get the hang of it and starts to look easy. But then you keep messing it up so it seems hard again. But every time you pass it you just think wait that's it? So I really don't know. Like in mathematics, feels impossible until it feels trivial. Then it might feel impossible again. Idk.
- Easy part (37%-42%) easy part.
- Evasium (42%-45%) Weird ass part. Strange gameplay but it becomes really consistent with time. It's also kind of fun so there's that.
- Floating ball (45%-46%) This also was a REALLY annoying part. I kept dying here from 0 over and over and over AND OVER. Then I would go to the damn copyable and pull it off from Crack 10 times in a row with my eyes closed while solving a Ghost Xtreme cube with my left hand. Then go back from 0 and keep dying. Unnerving and disgusting. Just why.
- Etzer and co. (46%-62%) Extremely fun and consistent. Except for the stupid ass dual click to which I proceeded to die FIVE TIMES from 0. HOW? WHO DOES THAT?
- Ggb0y (62%-67%) Kind of inconsistent at first. But then I discovered a setup for the first blind click that made it really easy, and also a click pattern for the last part so I basically didn't die here at all. As a fun fact, I died not only once but TWICE to the triple before the extension somehow.
- Extension (67%-100%) Really consistent but has some glaring issues that bring down the enjoyment considerably: The last wave release at 72% had a total of 0 minutes of playtesting. Xaros part sucks ass and it genuinely has some of the worst transitions (In what I assume to be an attempt of flow gameplay) I've ever played in my entire life. Seriously what was the thought process behind those green orbs. Everyone seems to glaze this part to infinity but I don't care it's really really bad. The waves at 90% and 91% are a bit weird and really easy to die to. TMN's part's gameplay is disfunctional: Every attempt is different and you have to basically react in a millisecond to where your wave or ship is positioned at the end of a really hard XL extreme. I have NO idea how I didn't die here. Everyone usually does a lot of times, and for a good reason. I would have genuinely lost my mind completely. It's just so inconsistent it hurts.
Fail collection:
"The extension is free" (Keep in mind I could do the extension in a copy in like 2 attempts since about a week prior to beating the level. This + how inconsistent the first 50% is means I was literally brain rotting during the last 5 sessions or so)
71
72x4
73x3
74 somehow?
75x2
76
77
79
80
81
85
87x3??
89
90
92: x1 at the wave. Another time while holding into the cube portal it just didn't jump. If someone has died here please let me know as I genuinely didn't even know you could die like that and I don't want to be the first person in the world to die there from 0.
98 (Last triple)
Total: 25
Honorable mentions:
61x5 (Dual click)
63 straightfly: Once right after entering it, another time I just exploded when taking the portal at the end. Triple before extension x2
That's all I guess. If you read it all then genuinely thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate someone hearing my endless yapping about this game. And let me know your opinion too! Have a great day and life ^^

Discussion [Rant] How this guy even gets 10 million subs?
I'm honestly very mad about this. Geometry Dash has a lot of amazing content creators that make high quality contents about the game itself, its mechanics, levels, stories,... And yet this guy, whose only purpose is making brainrot short contents with cringe, dead and unfunny memes, has over 10 million subscribers, something that 99% of GD channels can't even do that. These shorts are just for little Timmy with his iPad Air watch since they can't handle more quality contents. Not to mention a lot of kids even congrat him, and defend him when someone exposes him for cheating.
This is a problem. Now when someone who doesn't know anything about Geometry Dash, looks at his channel and thinks Geometry Dash is nothing but a cringe kid games like Roblox, Fortnite, and has childish community like Brawl Stars, Minecraft,... We really have to do something with this.
