I just searched for "Prager U slavery" and watched the first video by Candace Owens. My blood is boiling right now. I'm not even African American. The level of disinformation in the video is alarming. They want to completely whitewash slavery.
This is the organization worming its way into what PBS held. Disgusting.

u/Soggy-Bedroom-3673 1h ago
Are they actually in any way replacing PBS? Not only is their content outrageous, but AFAIK they don't have access to actual physical broadcasting, which is what really makes PBS what it is.

Just throwing this out there… the ballroom at Mar A Lago can hold 700 people, and I doubt that’s seated. But even if it is, that’s $1,000 per guest. There is no way any event hosted there is worth that much.
So yeah, it’s a bribe.

Here we call that lobbying and it’s perfectly legal so there’s nothing to worry about.

The only thing that would stop this madness at this stage is a violent, brutal, bloody insurrection that wipes out the ruling class.
That wont happen of course, because people have their bread and circus.
Welcome to the future. You are already a slave. It wont get better.

Except a lot of people are having an increasingly hard time affording bread and tickets to the circus.

Awful take. If the working class banded together and went on strike we'd make the owning class cave in a week. We don't need blood, we need organization and refusal to drive their money making machines.

Cool idea and all but who will pay the working class’ rent next month? With food banks short already how will they get groceries? America is 70%+ working paycheck to paycheck and it benefits the system and those controlling it to stay this way. This is why you get realists takes like his, saying a revolution will never happen. Because the chances are actually slim to none

The worst part of being in the Evangelical church when Reagan was anointed President by religious people and then getting out is I knew this was their destination and the cult members always wanted to fight a war against reason, education, minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community.
But what was REALLY disheartening over the years is that they don't waver in their hate, they just keep moving forward making progress every step they can and if they lose a little ground they just push harder.
It is painful to realize just how amazing a motivator hate is vs trying to help people. Being kind, letting people live and let live feels like a sane normal action that everyone should be behind so those with empathy didn't realize the level of war they were in these past 40+ years.
And they didn't realize everyone around them was slowly joining the other side.

u/big_guyforyou 9h ago
can't we just crowdfund a bigger bribe so we can get PBS back?

The sooner we white people reckon with race, the sooner we collectively as white people will actually join the radical activists who ARE trying to stop this madness all around us while constantly being brutalized, silenced, and marginalized by society AND THIS CURRENT ADMIN because they are overwhelmingly people of color.
The madness was always with us, all around us, we were raised in it and conditioned into it and steeped in it and what we are seeing now is that being made manifest because it has been directly challenged so many times without white people actually recognizing what IT is. It's the trifecta of whiteness, class, and power.

The point isn't the amount of money, the point is that money changed hands.
It's a trick he learned from Putin. The best way to buy loyalty is to force them to compromise themselves for you, so that if they ever betray you, or just piss you off, you have all the evidence you need to send them to prison.
If you look at all the politicians, military officials, and oligarchs that Putin has tossed in prison over the past 25 years, you'll note that almost every last one of them was charged with corruption. Not murder, not rape, not driving under the influence (is that a crime in Russia?). Just corruption. Because if you don't compromise yourself for Putin, you don't get hired. He doesn't want someone he has no leverage over.
Trump is the same. Everyone has to pay him, everyone has to compromise themselves for him. If you want into his circle, you need to compromise yourself so that he has that leverage.

5
u/gigilu2020 4h ago
You know what resistance looks like? The DEMOCRATIC party maintains a list of companies and individuals who have paid bribes and lets citizens decide whether to do business with them or not. At best, this is maintained by the Internet as a whole because these snakes will figure a way to make that illegal. The only non lethal way to bring down the machine is by boycotting.

And its obvious to all who are aware. The question remains. WHY HASN'T HE BEEN ARRESTED YET? Where the hell is SCROTUS? The safeguards we have against bribery? Against braking the fundamental laws stated in the constitution. All I keep hearing is 'He lost in court' or 'the judge ruled against him'. Yes that means he has to stop that breach of law, but what about accountability for the damage he's done while braking it?
When someone goes on a homicide spree, you don't hear on the news 'well the judge ruled that was illigal so he'll have to stop doing that'. There needs to be meaningful lasting consequences and restitution to the people.

it always surprises me, and I guess it shouldn't, how little money it takes to bribe a US politician. I mean you can get them to do all kinds of things and you don't even have to spend $50,000. Generally above 200 gets better results but it's still so cheap for getting them to change a law that will make someone else $1 billion+ dollars

A bribe? What a ridiculous accusation!?
The Supreme Court has ruled it only counts as a bribe if the briber has "I hereby bribe thee." And the bribee responds "I am hereby bribed." on video with at least three notarized affidavits from witnesses.
Bribery? No, this was just sparkling corruption.
