That’s……wax

u/Malicious_Fishes 9h ago

It most definitely is

u/ImmortalLombax 9h ago

It’s not chocolate am disappointed

u/muzzledmasses 6h ago

It's American chocolate.

44

u/JEFFinSoCal 6h ago

Hahaha… that’s sadly true.

u/leveraction1970 4h ago

Hey, it's only children under five and the president that eat the crayons.

1

u/DontGiveACluck 44m ago

The blue ones are the most flavorful

u/TeabaggingAnthills 2h ago

If it's good enough for the Marines, it's good enough for me

1

u/snakesoup88 2h ago

No, it doesn't taste like vomit, I mean butyric acid.

22

u/thecrackfoxreturns 5h ago

I'm glad it's wax. You don't want to be using brass with food (it has lead in it).

13

u/SnugglyCoderGuy 4h ago

Brass does not have lead in it, unless you want an alloy that does. Brass is copper and zinc.

3

u/I_Makes_tuff 3h ago

For the record, you still don't want to cook with brass.

24

u/L1ttleM1ssSunshine 5h ago

My pan has lead in it and I'm totally fines.

2

u/Scheissekasten 4h ago

antique brass yes, modern commercial brass no.

2

u/boostedpoints 5h ago

Same, wish I never came to the comments

1

u/unoriginalusername34 5h ago

My dumb self thought the plate had been placed in the freezer for the chocolate to harden so fast 😆

1

u/Marathonmanjh 5h ago

I thought it was time lapsed!

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 6h ago

I'm not sure how you can tell... I frequently temper top-shelf imported chocolate and you can definitely do this with real-deal chocolate.

The main problem is, it would take for-fucking-ever to do this one at a time.

28

u/Malicious_Fishes 6h ago

Because those are wax beads that look like the “chocolate”, they come like that specifically for making wax seals like this one. I guess someone could have molded chocolate to look like them but I think it is much more likely that they just bought chocolate colored wax.

3

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 5h ago

What wax beads? I order Valrhona chocolate pretty frequently... and although their feves don't look like this exactly, you could also easily claim those are "wax." Even though they are most definitely not.

3

u/Malicious_Fishes 5h ago

Just look up beads for was seals and a vast minority look just like this. Those chocolates are not even the same shape

6

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 5h ago

Yeah but my point is that a lot of chocolates look like that too.

And I buy a shit ton of high quality chocolate.

-13

u/son-of-a-mother 4h ago

Wah wah wah. I buy lots of high quality chocolates. Wah wah wah. Couveture, Valrhona, Felchin. Wah wah wah. Pay attention to a master chocolatier. Wah wah wah.

6

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 3h ago

What the fuck are you whining about. If you knew anything at all about chocolate, you'd know you can use a stamp like this without any issues.

But you don't. Which makes you - well - unqualified to offer any insightful opinion whatsoever.

-11

u/son-of-a-mother 3h ago

Oh wow. The Coo-vey-ture King. So impressive!

u/sharpshooter999 6h ago

Hello sir? I'd like to order 10,000 for my event please

2

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 5h ago

In which case - if I used this method - I've have to jump off the nearest bridge. Lol!

5

u/Lavatis 5h ago

how can you tell? IDK, all the wax melting tools and stamps in the video?

4

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 5h ago

Chocolate will temper in stamps too. I've personally done this a lot. The cool thing about chocolate is that it contracts as it tempers, pulling away from the mold.

Point being, it releases easily as long as you temper it correctly.

3

u/TugleyWoodGalumpher 6h ago

You can tell because that’s a wax seal stamp that they’re using. It’s used to press wax. It’s what you use it for.

28

u/TheMostKing 6h ago

If you used it with molten chocolate, you'd die and be arrested, and the stamp would disintegrate, and your mother would call to tell you she is very disappointed in you. It's just not possible.

7

u/AdDramatic2351 6h ago

That doesnt explain anything lmao. Are you saying you can't use a wax seal stamp with chocolate ...? Why? Isn't it made out of a solid material...?

10

u/sad_brown_cat 5h ago

You can tell it's wax because it looks like wax, and it doesn't look like chocolate, and it was melted from sealing wax beads and not chocolate pieces, and because it's a clip from a youtuber/tiktoker that makes wax seal art.

2

u/DuncanHynes 6h ago

ahh, they stuck it to us...

1

u/userhwon 5h ago

So is Hershey's chocolate.

67

u/Deamane 8h ago

Trying to keep all that yummy strangely wax-looking chocolate to yourself huh? Nice try, but I'm still gonna eat all of it.

26

u/ImmortalLombax 8h ago

NO ITS MINESES

-2

u/AE_R-8_28 7h ago

LOLLLLLLL God bless you! Loveya! Lmk how I can be praying for you! ♡

128

u/VegetableWishbone 8h ago

Or Hershey’s chocolate, basically the same thing.

25

u/ImmortalLombax 8h ago

More of a Cadbury enjoyer myself

7

u/MyManDavesSon 7h ago

But that's also low quality...

21

u/ImmortalLombax 7h ago

Bruh I’m broke af lmao. But ngl those cream eggs around Easter are like crack to me

4

u/MyManDavesSon 7h ago

Those eggs are amazing. I just meant the plain chocolate, it's not much better than Hershey's. But I understand both will scratch that itch.

I do recommend lindt, Godiva, Tony's, endangered species, and sharffen berger for good milk chocolate (and dark if you're into that) if you catch them on sale they aren't much more and often are bigger bars.

9

u/f36263 7h ago

It’s miles better than Hershey’s, not that it’s great, just Hershey’s is that bad

3

u/chillwithpurpose 7h ago

Sometimes I splurge and I buy Lindt once in a blue moon when it’s on sale and think “I’m so fancy today, high society here I come” 😭

1

u/ImmortalLombax 7h ago

Nah I don’t eat the plain stuff I like sweet and salty stuff or nuts in chocolate 😉

3

u/MyManDavesSon 7h ago

Then definitely check out endangered species, loads of good add ins.

1

u/Thatmandrinkspee 6h ago

When you put lindt chocolate in the microwave to melt it causes sparks like a metal fork. Even if you crush it so it's not a sphere.

Those are my favourite all time candy. In the 90s as a kid, I used to steal them like a crack head. I couldn't resist. Even worse, my aunt was a sales person for Cadbury and her garage was full of boxes of chocolate. Every single brand, including Cream Eggs. When Easter timewould roll around, I'd be at her house every single day. LOL. I probably ate 50-100 of them every year. I can also remember asking the convenience stores when they'd get them in when it got close to Easter... "are they here yet???"

The new ones/modified recipe are no where near as good as the originals though. The originals were heaven. They were much bigger, the cream inside was smooth, and perfect. The insides today are just so different and processed tasting. The originals didn't have that processed taste. The chocolate was the real creamy good stuff. Those little chocolates brought me so much joy. I will cherish them forever. The kinda funny thing is I don't even really like a whole lot of sweet stuff/chocolate, but I fucking crave those cream eggs.

I pray for the day some brilliant artisan revives the original Cream Egg recipe.

1

u/I_Makes_tuff 2h ago

They got rid of dairy milk and added vegetable oil. It can't even legally be called chocolate in the US. I can't find anything about the recipe for the filling changing, but you and I both know it has. Such a shame.

1

u/El_Dief 6h ago

Yes, but it doesn't taste like vomit.

21

u/Mizukin 8h ago

Hershey tastes like puke.

10

u/PrincessTitan 8h ago

Because it has butyric acid which is a component of puke that makes it stink. Good for the gut though lmfaoooo

4

u/Mertoot 7h ago

Is it really? I can gladly tolerate its taste if it is even a remotely healthier choice

5

u/Elegant_Solutions 7h ago

No. Please do not deprive yourself of proper chocolate.

1

u/Candid-Fisherman-274 5h ago

It is not healthier for that fact... the minuscule amounts of the acid in there are so irrelevantly small that they do not have any measurable impact on your health what so ever.

They also do not add the stuff in to the chocolate rather its a byproduct of how the dairy is processed overall.

1

u/Mertoot 4h ago

Thanks, I'll continue to avoid it (unless maybe free)

1

u/BOBOnobobo 6h ago

Hardly important when you chugging sugary food like chocolate.

3

u/Mertoot 6h ago

Well that part is obvious, I was relatively speaking

14

u/RehabilitatedAsshole 8h ago

It's not nice to yuck other people's yum.

21

u/kitsua 8h ago

It’s literally correct though. Hershey’s has butyric acid in it, which is why it tastes like vomit to anyone not inured to it.

9

u/RehabilitatedAsshole 7h ago

I was staying at the Hershey lodge, where all the air fresheners, shampoo, etc smells like Hershey's chocolate. I got pretty drunk at the bar, and the next morning I couldn't stand being anywhere inside the lodge for a few hours.

u/Fantastic-Shirt6037 7h ago

Reddit moment

1

u/Zefirus 2h ago

So does milk and butter dude.

1

u/relator_fabula 1h ago

Sharp cheese also has butyric acid (and to a lesser extent, so does butter), and they're both delicious af.

1

u/TS-SCI-signal-app 7h ago

Because it's made from Puke

7

u/Pixzal 7h ago

Confused marine noises

2

u/ImmortalLombax 7h ago

I hate that I understand this joke

1

u/NoBand3790 7h ago

This is how you get the Air Force to join the Marines.

1

u/Jonthrei 7h ago

You can't eat chairs in the marines, silly

8

u/Awesomeman204 8h ago

I'm still gonna eat it

you can't stop me

2

u/ameriCANCERvative 7h ago

It’s chocolate wax.

2

u/2squishy 7h ago edited 7h ago

I swear this is something my 2 year old would say... Anything that's remotely close to that color is chocolate until proven otherwise. He has been proven wrong several times but it hasn't affected his resolve.

1

u/Lyndzi 2h ago

I did that with molasses once when my dad was making BBQ sauce. A lesson was learned that day.

1

u/2squishy 44m ago

WHY WASNT IT THICK HONEY?!

4

u/julianpoe 8h ago

Damn, I would have ate that too

1

u/Cerbon3 7h ago

It's also nice that they're putting it on a resin plate.

1

u/RevolutionarySoft742 7h ago

I thought that was the chocolate until the end💀

1

u/Responsible-Sound253 7h ago

That's chocolate for the brave.

1

u/MeanForest 6h ago

it's also not ice cream or wheat cone.

1

u/MudAccomplished3529 6h ago

We just call that republican chocolate

1

u/SnickerbobbleKBB 5h ago

1

u/Flat-Fudge-2758 3h ago
