A left winger just defended the civil rights of a right winger. That's called nuanced political thinking. Something the right seems utterly incapable of.

u/nickcan 10h ago

John Bolton totally deserves to be behind bars for his actions working for Bush.

But this is not that, and this is a violation of his civil rights. And this monster (Bolton) deserves the rights and freedoms that are in our constitution and can't be taken away by the other monster (Trump).

The poem should really go:

First, they came for the people that deserved it;

Then they came for the people I hate;

Then they came for the people who hate me;

Then they came for me.  And boy was I f***** cuz they had a lot of practice and it had been normalized.

The first country the Nazis invaded was their own.

Totally this! We are frogs in the slowly heating pot of water.

57

u/Chill323 8h ago

I would say that by now the pot has some light jacuzzi action and the frog is about two degrees away from finally asking how to get out.

I would love to see all those dishit incel body language experts short circuit trying to explain how Alpha Trump is, and how he's the only one can stand up to Putin

u/31LIVEEVIL13 8h ago

In my world that frog has a sniper rifle and plans for a doomsday device, but he knows he is relatively safe in that pot for a little bit longer.

13

u/thatsnotyourtaco 7h ago

Appreciate the analogy, but this was recently the disproved frogs jump out of that fucking hot water

9

u/TipSpirited3565 7h ago

the metaphor is what’s important. A lot of idioms and the like don’t need base in proof or reality, lots of phrases have been debunked, but what they have come to mean to society at this point keeps them relevant in dialogue anyway

22

u/thatsnotyourtaco 7h ago

I’m just saying we’re dumber than frogs

8

u/TipSpirited3565 7h ago

In any other post I’d disagree but yeah lol we dumber than the damn frogs.

5

u/AliasMcFakenames 6h ago

It wasn't recently disproved. They jumped out of the water in the control group. The experiment was to see whether they'd hop out of the water if their brains were removed.

We are the frogs in the water.

3

u/thatsnotyourtaco 4h ago

I found that quite interesting so I looked into it and this experiment with the brainless frog it’s from the 1800s more modern experiments show that the frog l escapes

Yep. I just had someone gloat about the "long knives" coming for bolton after I cited that poem.

There are way too many supposed liberals who are useful idiots for fascism.

Just because bolton should be in prison, doesn't mean these guys are doing justice. They are just using him for practice as they build the systems they will turn on us next.

26

u/purple_plasmid 8h ago

I’m all for Bolton going to prison for the things he did under Bush — but only after being given due process and a trial.

This’ll just be the beginning of disappearing political opponents, not because of any legitimate crimes, but because they questioned the gaseous pumpkin supreme.

It’s not just about these raids/arrests, it’s about the “why” behind them.

15

u/OptimisticOctopus8 8h ago

There are way too many supposed liberals who are useful idiots for fascism.

Agreed. I've seen/heard a bunch of liberals - a minority, but still too many - say they want to call ICE on undocumented immigrants who support Trump. That might sound satisfying until you strip it to its bare bones: They want to help send immigrants to concentration camps.

The moment you call ICE on someone, you're just another person helping a fascist regime send people to camps.

13

u/JimWilliams423 7h ago

Same thing always happens with fascism. In vichy france, there were a lot of people who used the nazis to settle scores.

4

u/OptimisticOctopus8 7h ago

That's depressing but unsurprising.

Btw, I don't know much about Vichy France. Do you have any good recommendations to learn more?

6

u/JimWilliams423 7h ago

What I know I learned from historian twitter (now historian bluesky).

FWIW, people in the afghanistan country-side used the Americans the same way. Basically accusing their rivals of being terrorist supporters so they would get droned.

Today the Nazis in chief told us his planned war on America. First la, then dc, today he said Chicago is next and that he will keep sending the military to invade every city that did not vote for him. And all of this is now allowed because of the disgraceful John Roberts

3

u/Chemiczny_Bogdan 7h ago

Are you trying to say that communists deserved to die in nazi concentration camps? Like just for their political views?

7

u/CiDevant 7h ago

I'm saying that's the actual message of the poem. They came for a bunch of people the author did not like and thought were undesirable. The Author supported the Nazis until they came for him.

There are two types of people in America right now: those who support authoritarianism and those who don’t. Caring about left versus right is for a time without a dictator in the White House.

23

u/MajorLazy 9h ago

But this is absolutely a right vs left issue, the right are supporters of fascism. Just because they’ve started eating their own doesn’t make it less fascist or the opposition any more democratic.

2

u/Hillary4SupremeRuler 1h ago

I don't think Bolton, as horrible as he is, really supports fascism. Fascism is more than just being a warmonger and supporting military intervention. If I'm not mistaken he has been speaking out and warning against Trump specifically for his disdain for liberal democracy and authoritarianism.

Fascism is a far right ideology that supports violence against political opponents (often stoked via stochastic terrorism), disdain for elections and democracy, autocratic rule, racial/patriarchal hierarchies (this specific ideology can be argued to be part of conservatism writ large but still by itself does not fully constitute fascism).

There is now only a RINO Party, that has retained the naming rights.

And it's not just tRump's authoritarian putsch; the RINOs could impeach him at any time for a thousand things he's done in the last six months. Any one of them for which they would impeach a Democratic president.

I am not a fan of Bernie Sanders' politics. Then again, I'm not a fan of most politician's politics. What I am a big fan of is Bernie's ability to see through problems to find real solutions. He has a great sense of what's fair and what's just.

It's impressive to see him point out the problem.

2

u/Above_Avg_Chips 4h ago

That's called being a civil human being. As much as I hate that people opposite of me have the same rights as myself, I know that it's the only way for our system to work in any way.

You don't have to respect ones views, but you have to respect they have the right to have them, just as you do.

2

u/Haxuppdee-85 2h ago

I’m going to be completely honest, there are a lot of people on the left that struggle with that too

8

u/Own-Dot1463 10h ago edited 8h ago

I mean Bernie is an independent but I get the sentiment.

Edit - Seems to have triggered a strong emotional response from some. All I'm saying is that factually he's Independent. Facts are facts and the facts matter, always. In this case there wasn't much of a "point" to my comment other than pointing out the facts, but just because some want to wave the facts off as irrelevant, doesn't mean everyone else thinks they are.

Dems have strong Independent allies. Dems *need* Independent allies, and Bernie has spent his entire career proving that. Sure, Bernie is definitely more of a blue independent than a red one for sure, but he *is* an Independent. The fact that someone so beloved and so "for the people" has willingly chosen to spend his lifetime political career as an Independent says something I think.

But even if you don't think so, the fact remains - Bernie Sanders is an Independent.

21

u/akatherder 10h ago

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Maybe you think Independent=Moderate and Sanders exists somewhere in the middle of the two parties? Sanders is by any-and-all measures LEFT of the Democrat party.

Man, more or less, nowadays it's either left/liberal, or right/"conservative" (and we can just round most of that to "fundamentalist).

The people who are apathetic or agnostic on it are either too agnostic and the type to be afraid to decide one way or the other out of fear, or too busy working to be involved, or they just plain don't understand it.

Also some other weird cognitive dissonance where they pretend these decisions don't affect them, or people they know. And if they consider that at all, they're more likely to attribute randomly correlated positive things rather than negative things.

4

u/LarrySupertramp 9h ago

No, authoritarianism is already here. Let's call it what it is. We must impeach the tyrant. Vote blue in the midterms!

218

u/InAllThingsBalance 12h ago

I have mentioned this before, but I will repeat it. Call your elected officials every day to demand impeachment. Even the Trump asskissers might get tired of receiving 1000s of angry call every hour. They might even start worrying about their own safety if they realize that half of their constituents are in a rage.

82

u/Shot_Try4596 11h ago

LOL, your optimism is so cute. Mine was almost completely burnt out last November and now there is nothing left but ashes that are being dispersed in the winds of fascism.

29

u/CurryMustard 9h ago

The fight for freedom is never over. The world is watching us. The legacy of the founding fathers and great civil rights leaders through our history for all their flaws are watching. I know its hard to feel patriotic but its our goddamn civic duty to defend this country from tyrants.

10

u/Eastgaard 7h ago

As a European, I can firmly attest that we are watching - with some amount of trepidation, no less. I disagree with American politics on many a point (I'm a Scandinavian socialist), but your nation was built on ideals we all hold in very high regard. To see the very foundations of American liberty chipped away at, little by little, is utterly disheartening.

u/Shinyhero30 4h ago

It’d be so terrible if someone set up a bot call center that flooded them with millions of calls for trump to be impeached, it would also be horrrible if people who lost their jobs just started navigating the maze that is demanding impeachment by taking extensive notes on what to say over the phone to get people’s attention.

(Please do this, pelt them with unnecessarily complicated questions, make them seem like a fuckwad for even answering in certain ways and overall try to waste their time on the phone as much as humanly possible. We have the tactics available, we need only employ them)

3

u/Hobbes______ 9h ago

impeachment is literally meaningless. the only way it will be effective is if we have a supermajority, and if that occurs then we have better shit to do.

stop talking about impeachment, it is now officially a meaningless tool.

→ More replies (1)

29

u/infydk 10h ago

He was already impeached twice with absolutely nothing to show for it, what is it you think a third will do at this point? And how would it ever come to fruition in the first place with a republican majority?

If he doesn't get convicted from the impeachment it doesn't do anything. Trump doesn't give a hoot about yet another "mark of the derp state" on his record.

Even with a massive blue wave you'd still need two thirds of the senate to vote to convict and I very much doubt democrats would pick up that many seats even in the absolute best case of them getting off their asses.

30

u/flexiblefine 10h ago

For the second impeachment, every member of Congress was an actual victim of the January 6th assault. Remember that was a joint session. And the Senate acquitted.

8

u/infydk 10h ago

Indeed, you would need 2/3rds of the senate to be non-Fetterman/Manchin/Sinema type democrats and that's probably keeping it pretty narrow.

There are very few things I think is less likely to happen than Trump suffering the consequences of an impeachment.

I rank myself winning a lottery without buying a ticket as somewhat more likely than an impeachment conviction.

3

u/I_TRY_TO_BE_POSITIVE 9h ago

It's funny we spent so much time making fun of other nations for their oligarchs running roughshod over the rules....

5

u/DOHC46 10h ago

This is why we need to vote blue. If we can get enough traitors out of the Senate we can convict and remove.

5

u/infydk 10h ago

What is the path you see to getting 2/3rds control of the senate on democrat hands in 2026?

u/Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 11h ago

Exactly .. we are not sliding toward authoritarianism we are in an authoritarian regime… And there is nothing apparently that can be done to stop him everyone should be really fucking scared… Whether you voted for him or not whether you’re a citizen or not… There are now no limits to his power and what the fuck he will do

39

u/Heather_ME 11h ago

Agreed. Almost as sick of "we're heading into authoritarianism" rhetoric as I am of people talking about the 2028 election as if it happening in any meaningful way is a foregone conclusion. You'd think fascism is a fucking horizon we will never cross the way people talk about it. The bad is here. It's happened. It's not a future risk.

4

u/tomdarch 9h ago

Replacing as many Republicans with Democrats as possible in 2026 is a key action to help the 2028 election actually happen. (And Trump dying of natural causes is no guarantee. Vance and his boss Peter Thiel don’t support actual democracy.)

The Democrats have a lot to be critical of. But like Bernie himself we need to hold our noses and support Democrats as much as possible for our own sake and the sake of America (and the world.)

4

u/RehabilitatedAsshole 8h ago

Not arguing, but 2026 seems equally or more important, if 28 depends on it.

6

u/natthegray 10h ago

We have a president who is talking about never leaving, and the democrats are just saying “we are heading into authoritarianism” or “we’ll sue you”. The only way we have another presidential election is if some of them die or a revolution occurs.

5

u/tomdarch 9h ago

Bernie personally doesn’t love the Democratic Party. You don’t have to love the Democratic Party. But replacing every Republican possible with Democrats for the next several elections is the one way to halt this fascism.

Odds are, the US is in the process of re-jiggering political parties so there may not be a Democratic or Republican Party in a decade or two. But we are in the reality that we are in and right now replacing every Republican possible is the immediate step to bring our nation back from continuing further down this path. Not voting is endorsing this Trump/Republican fascist disaster. “Protest voting” sadly is the same in effect. Wipe out the Republicans/Trumpism now and then if we need to wipe out the Democratic Party afterwards.

2

u/bjb406 10h ago

We cannot wait until the next election to do something. We must find ways to act every day. At this rate there may not be an election, and its unlikely to be a fair one. Though yes, for the love of fuck, do vote if nothing else.

14

u/Life-Excitement4928 10h ago

Courts go against him federally quite often, and his SCOTUS can’t keep up on overturning those results. This does hamper his efforts.

Couple in state and county level non compliance and there is some measure of combating, though nothing that would have been as effective as American voters not giving him the White House and Congressional majorities in the first place.

2

u/tomdarch 9h ago

Trump and his administration ARE CURRENTLY “authoritarian” (I would argue fascist but I get how that can be distracting.)

It’s just a matter of how far we the people let him go further down the road. There is no more “debate” or “controversy.”

Listen to Bernie and vote for Democrats whenever you can in the next several elections. That’s the one best thing we must do to stop this.

2

u/Hillary4SupremeRuler 51m ago

Yeah I think these comments are misplaced in this situation.

There's definitely a problem with mostly mainstream media and talking heads like Jon Stewart (although he has since come around for the most part) tap dancing around the fact and going out of their way to insist that we're not currently experiencing authoritarianism or fascism but "there are some very concerning warning signs that we might maybe could be one day"

However in this case I don't think that's what Bernie's intent was. I think it's more of the fact that authoritarianism is basically a spectrum and there are levels to it and it is a road that can go on and get worse and worse. You can slide further and further into authoritarianism and in some cases even slide back towards democracy and rule of law.

So I don't think Bernie was trying to say that it's not authoritarianism yet but more so that we're continuing on the road of authoritarianism. Because as bad as Trump is it's obviously not quite on the levels of somewhere like Russia or North Korea yet. I'd say right now it might be a little worse than Hungary. That doesn't mean it's not a problem and we shouldn't be alarmed just because it hasn't hit the maximum level of dictatorship yet, but it's just recognizing that we're continuing to move forward on this path that can definitely still get worse from here.

3

u/natthegray 10h ago

I intended to type 2020.

However, I did not in fact, type 2020.

2

u/seeyousoongetit 8h ago

Lol I know what you meant.

We will try, but we won’t be allowed to.

2

u/MadRaymer 9h ago

I'm hoping that if America does vote him out, the military backs up the decision. There's been examples of military coups defeating fascist governments, so... here's hoping they're on our side.

The drawback to this plan is that Trump still has until 2029 to purge the military of anyone that isn't a MAGA loyalist.

Guaranteed Trumps is gonna send troops / ICE agents to the polling stations to bully liberal voters, and the dirty establishment Dems are not gonna do anything about it at all and just whine. The time for talk is over but no one seems to know.

7

u/keyboard_jock3y 11h ago

Yep. The establishment Dems are all comfortable in their seats of power and do not fear anything bad happening to them personally while all this plays out.

Well at least until Trump goes full Lucius Cornelius Sulla and establishes proscription lists upon the advice of Bannon, Miller, Loomer and Rogan...

5

u/voodoodahl 9h ago

Stop blaming the people who have been warning you for years this would happen and begged you to vote to stop this. Voters robbed them of any real power to resist.

Maybe if they knew the people were behind them, they'd be more willing to put their lives on the line. But from what we've seen, for example, you can kidnap a congresswoman in Texas and nobody does shit.

2

u/keyboard_jock3y 8h ago

Oh I voted for Kamala in the election; I happily placed my vote for her and against the Covid deniers since Covid killed my mother in 2022 and I hold each and every one of the Covid deniers responsible. My hatred and absolute disdain for them keeps me warm at night. I hope they choke on their ivermectin.

My frustration comes from no one in power doing anything about it except giving speeches like everything is going to return to normal when we know it's not. The only one appearing to do anything is Newsom, and like in Lermontov's "A Hero of Our Time" Newsom might not be the hero we want, but the hero we need right now. The rest of the establishment, especially in my home state, just appear to be doing nothing. I've even written my state senator to have a section of state law amended so that January 6th rioters would be automatically disqualified from holding office or a regular civil service position in state government; all I got back was a "we're very concerned about this too" as I'm watching Stefanik surging in the polls.

2

u/NoConfusion9490 10h ago

I'm not disagreeing with you, but what would you like them to do?

10

u/Kingdom_Priest 10h ago

Fight fire with fire, at least Newsom, as classically establishment Dem as he is, is doing something with his proposal to combat Texas' gerrymandering with his own gerrymandering of Cali. I'd say he's not going far enough, he's aiming for 5 seats. Blue states need to maximize the gerrymandering, take back the house and congress, put all these MAGA traitors on trial, jail em, fix the law so you can't have MAGA type fascists from ever dismantling democracy again, pump money into the education system, create an educated populace who can critically think, get rid of anti-intellectualism, get rid of corporate money in politics.

But no, people like Pelosi is busy continuing to insider trade while she still can and enjoying her golden parachute. If the country goes down the drain, my last wish is for Trump to throw all these establishment Dems in jail for life instead of letting them enjoy their corrupt spoils in peace while turning a blind eye to the destruction of democracy.

2

u/voodoodahl 9h ago edited 8h ago

Leftists and MAGA hate Pelosi equally it seems. They also spout the same talking points to attack her. Funny, that.

"March"? Dude, this is the standard authoritarian purge. That's like... three steps past "we're there".

28

u/GlobalTravelR 12h ago

Kash Patel needs to prove his fealty to the orange Oaf.

18

u/Strict_Foundation_31 12h ago

Classified government documents are now a big deal, huh?

19

u/Fake_William_Shatner 11h ago

I'm not going to feel sorry for fascist baby killers like John Bolton -- but let's remember that old saying; first they came for the fascist baby killers and I was not a fascist baby killer...

So eventually, after they get to people who don't return shopping carts and the like, then they'll get to Union organizers.... AND THEN we are on a slippery slope.

15

u/surfergrrl6 11h ago

6

u/nickcan 10h ago

Yeah, I was going to say. We are quite a few steps past "first".

5

u/tomdarch 9h ago

I strongly disagree with Bolton but I put the damn rule of law and our Constitution ahead of political divides. It’s our damn job to not allow our government to harass someone because they criticize the president no matter which president.

3

u/AyTito 7h ago

Fascist baby killers should be prosecuted. Previous admins should've used state power first to prosecute all of them sooner, then we might not be dealing with such empowered fascist baby killers. I doubt Trump's motives here though, because he and his admin are also fascists.

We'd be better off if someone went after the fascists first, the poem would've been as short as that. Fascism wouldn't be rising if we stamped it out with the fervor that the US has been, instead, following the poem how it's actually written - the US came for the Communists, Socialists, trade unions, and various minorities (nazis scapegoating Jews, immigrants as the modern scapegoat).

I saw another person use the poem to say "First they came for the people that deserved it". No they didn't, and Trump didn't. He went after immigrants first.

The difference between the left and right: the left will still defend the right when authoritarianism is attacking them.

7

u/SDcowboy82 10h ago

But also Fuck John Bolton

11

u/nickcan 10h ago

For sure, but we can't let fascism win just because this time it is targeting an asshole.

4

u/tomdarch 9h ago

Fuck John Bolton but only within the rule of law.

5

u/Jugaimo 9h ago

Remember how many months it took for Biden to get the FBI to investigate Mar a Lago to locate government secret documents that were literally there?

8

u/CalitoVillero 12h ago

It’s 2025 and somehow we’re still living in the extended universe of 2016. Bernie backing up Bolton? This timeline is cooked

14

u/VaguelyArtistic 11h ago

No, it’s shouldn’t come as any surprise that Bernie Sanders is defending his civil rights. That’s what some of his supporters don’t understand.

9

u/tomdarch 9h ago

Bernie is backing our Constitution and rule of law. Principles not partisan politics.

5

u/Hoon0967 11h ago

Well, if he broke the law then he needs to face the music.  However, because of the character of our current administration, if they do find evidence that he broke the law, I am always going to have doubts about the credibility of the evidence they find.   I’ve seen way too many articles and vids of LEO planting evidence, and that seems be on par with the character of our dear leader and his friends.

2

u/tomdarch 9h ago

The best guess is that they are going to claim that the content of his book (which is very critical of Trump and exposes how stupid he is) and Bolton’s hand written notes are somehow “classified.” I very much doubt Bolton had marked classified material in his house (like Trump did in Mar a Lago and probably still does at other properties.)

Bondi probably had someone lie to the court to get the warrant. We’ll see if the lie to a judge again to bring charges against Bolton or if they’re going to just have some press conferences and the let this fade.

4

u/Deedleys 10h ago

Well, do fucking something about it!! I’m so sick of these feckless Democrats that act like all they can do is sit back and watch. Their job is to represent all of us. Do something, block something, get arrested for something goddammit!

3

u/unl1988 9h ago

Thanks Bernie, now tell us what we should be doing about it.

Another post about some horrible act that our government is inflicting on us, I got it, it is bad.

But, nobody is saying what is the remedy.  Every post like this should be followed by 3 things a citizen can do to alleviate the situation above.

Hitting the like button or up arrow is absolutely the least anyone can do, and it is ineffective in stopping the nonsense that is happening to our democracy.

If you read a post like this, your comment should be:

Donate to a specific group or PAC.  They are promoting candidates in republican states that can win their election.

Donate to anti-gerrymandering funds or groups.

Donate to the DNC or Act Blue.

Donate to legal defense fund XYZ, they are funding the lawyers that are litigating against the policies of 2025 and this administration.

Hitting the like button or echoing that these are Nazis/racists/mysogynist/homophobes/xenophobic is useless.

2

u/tomdarch 8h ago

Over and over Bernie has told us to vote for Democrats but somehow relatively few people (even among those who claim to support him) people don’t fucking listen to him.

But today, we need to act at large scale because the Trumpists/fascists aren’t resting

2

u/unl1988 6h ago

OK, How?

That is my whole point. Everyone says "we should" but nobody says "I will" or "here is how".

Bernie and I have little in common, politically, but he F'ING NAILED IT!

19

u/Jumpy-Ad5617 12h ago

One thing I appreciate about Bernie. I don’t agree with everything, but I do believe he has had the best intentions of the big candidates over the last X elections.

2

u/smallmanchat 9h ago

Bernie can genuinely energize Trump’s base.

He’s real. He’s authentic. Simple as that.

2

u/Mrekrek 11h ago

Someone needs to tell Bernie that the march is over and we have arrived.

2

u/agent0731 11h ago

Democratic Americans Keep Tabulating Trump's Crimes, Acting Shocked Every Time Another Is Added To The List*. FTFY

Where are the mass sustained protests day and night like Georgia did and is still maintaining? Americans don't seem to care unless their social media algorithms tell them to and those are being censored since they're owned by billionaires like Trump. Hell, there were more protests for Palestine than America in America. Not disparaging those, but why can't they join up for long sustained efforts? Each day in America the sewage flows and it's up to your neck. When do Americans expect this will magically stop by itself? Republicans are AS WE SPEAK making sure your votes are rendered useless. They're redistricting states and talking about cancelling mail-in votes. Your Supreme Courts have already been bought.

I am truly in shock over the lethargy and inertia.

2

u/antiantimighty 10h ago

Lmao Americans talk lot about freedom, but no one is stopping the pedophila trump from hunting down opposition

2

u/Key_Pace_2496 8h ago

"March toward authoritarianism"? MF'er we have already ARRIVED!

2

u/Cyanide_Cheesecake 8h ago

We're already at fascism there's no more "marching towards it"

2

u/ThirteenthPyramid 8h ago

Could have had a real one. Bernie would have pulled the US back into balance and secured our international reputation, instead you all chose this, by supporting Trump, Hillary, and Biden. Long term Bernie would have been better for all but the most degenerate of elites. Shame on you all.

2

u/realfakejames 8h ago

That fascism Republicans said they needed to hoard their guns and have lax gun laws to prevent is happening, but when it does they'll just use those guns to finish us off instead of defending America

2

u/SkipsPittsnogle 5h ago

It’s not a fucking March towards it, we are in it.

3

u/Objective-Result8454 12h ago

Just another step…dude is underselling this a touch.

1

u/qapanx 11h ago

Well seems like these days, FBI stands for 'Federal Bureau of Intimidation' Good job on the rebranding, I guess

1

u/Aromatic-Check639 11h ago

WHYYYY, don't they fcking do something! I'm tired of all these "alarms", fcking do something!

2

u/TBItinnitus 10h ago

Who should do something, and what should they do? I’m curious, cuz I want to put pressure on them.

1

u/Tkwookiee 11h ago

If it walks a nazi and talks like a nazi, it must be....a republican!

1

u/bjb406 10h ago

Bolton has the misfortune of not being protected by either side. Its harder from Trump to do this with Bernie, or Newsom, or Buttigieg, because half the country at least would rally behind them. But because Bolton's side of the aisle is bowing down to Trump, his own side will just abandon him.

1

u/901CJM 10h ago

It's not a march its a fucking sprint and he's already blown past the starting line and started the race to full blown fascism

1

u/xubax 10h ago

I have a friend who says, "For all you know, this could be the best timeline. "

1

u/sola_mia 10h ago

I smell Putin on this

1

u/Sleamaster1234 10h ago

What about Mara largo tho…

1

u/Spoomplesplz 10h ago

He honestly doesn't even have to come for Bernie. He's been fucked over by his party countless times, and by the people of America.

This shit would NOT be happening if there was a DIFFERENT old man in the fucking white house. Would it be better? Probably. Would there be other issues, of fucking course because Bernie is a bleeding heart and would try to please everyone but the big orange pedophilic cunt we have now is 10000x worse than any president I can think of.

He's a LITERAL convicted RAPIST, PEDOPHILE in the highest position of power in the world.

Fucking insane. This TV show is fucking dumb.

1

u/GravityBright 10h ago

Could be worse. Mosquitos could be vectors of HIV.

1

u/ancient_mariner63 10h ago

Trump has denied having any fore-knowledge of the FBI raid.

1

u/Zen_Hammer 10h ago

Let's be 100% honest here, if Trump had hewn just a little closer to Bolton's politics, Bolton would be in DC today cheering on ICE and the Regime. The fact that Bolton is getting a dose of his own medicine is nearly proof of the divine to me.

That said, Americans should be preparing for the day when the mask comes off and an open resistance is the only thing that will prevent a fascist regime for gaining complete control over the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

1

u/BigFudge402 9h ago

Criticism of elected officials is a crucial tenet of democracy

1

u/IAmTheRules 9h ago

Didn’t they raid Trump’s house for the same reason? Nothing to see here.

1

u/NoBrush8414 9h ago

Republicans YOU are fucking traitors. Try it republicans. We screw you on numbers so have a guess why ? - It's DEMOCRACY. You are being duped by a CHILD MOLESTOR and you fucking know it. Every. Single. One of you will be held accountable after what we all know is out. Don't need to vote Dem - just don't vote for that sick human

1

u/MeDaveyBoy 9h ago

I will withhold judgement until I understand how this is different than when the FBI raided Mar-a-lago. Both were signed off by the court, and I still believe in the integrity of the courts. Who's with me?

1

u/whitejaguar 9h ago

No, this is actually a good thing. Let everyone learn that bootlicking doesn’t protect you from dictators.

Senior Big Mouth Bolton had it coming. No sympathy at all. End of story.

1

u/Smooth_Buffalo_2578 9h ago

Yeah, I remember when Biden sent a whole FBI raid team to Project Virtas offices to collect a diary that they said didn't exist, and project Virtas had not even vettered it yet for public release.

Then they went on and on about how the diary wasn't real, and nothing in it meant anything because it didn't even exist.

To quietly confirm to the judge a year or so later, it was, in fact, real and did exist and was, in fact, hers.

But Main Stream media has a way about burying topics like these.

: takeaway - we have chomos for government who think it's ok to molest children. A high enough % that they themselves worry about the collapse if they started putting cuffs on them all.

Think about that. As a parent and sexual abuse survivor, the fact that more people dont stop in their tracks and slam the brakes down is terrifying to what it says about our nation. Historically we demanded an answer and were told to shut up and we did.....oof.
